Been hunting for the best fish and chips in Sac, not sure if this is it but it's REALLY good and it's right next to my house. Lol. Fish is flaky and crispy and delicious. Fries are Fine™ enough that I have no complaints.

Of course the fish & chips at Tower Cafe (and other restaurants) is amazing, but you pay 4x the amount. I came here for a 1 piece and man, I couldn't finish everything even though it was the only thing I had eaten so far that day. It was the hugest one piece of fish. My craving was more than satisfied.

The restaurant is super clean inside and quite the throwback. It's adorable. The couple that owns the place is super sweet too. I support Tugboat!!

I tried the one piece and the "Prawns". Well they were the shrimp, and had a lot of batter on them, so it was a small shrimp, with a lot of batter. I guess I was spoiled by going to The Bay Fish and chips in Sunnyvale, that had a much nicer Beer batter, that was thinner, and crispy, and they used the Jumbo Prawns.
French fries are served with it, not actual Wedges Chips),

I am always grossed out when I see they refill ketchup bottles, and not just buy more small ones. The tartar sauce is insipid, and bland compared to the great sauce that is home made at The Bay. -They can do better.

5/14/2019:  Famished~I was raging hungry after spending close six hours being medically treated at the VA HOSPITAL.  I decided I wanted inhaling Dim Sum after completing my medical treatments, i.e., high-tail skiddaddle away from the VA and head down Highway 99 to ABC Bakery for DIM SUM . . . My reward for being so "patient!"

LOL-YAY!!!!!  I encountered heavy traffic driving on Highway 50 to Highway 99 South~eye-rolling ensues and incessant sighing emitting every breath I exhaled . . . Now, driving the surface streets . . . Am I heading towards Elk Grove?  Uh~Where am I?  WOT????  Whoa~TUG BOAT NUMBER SIX-HERE????

Ahhh-cool!  I'll eat here after I buy Dim Sum at ABC BAKERY which btw~ABC Bakery pretty much sold out around 4:45 PM of EVERYTHING-waaaah:  So disappointingly, I was in and out of ABC in less than five minutes tops and high-tailed screeching my truck tires returning to Tug Boat #6 for a ravenous, inhaling session!

I parked my truck in front of Tug Boat via across the way from the Laundromat despite, there was a sign stating there's parking behind Tug Boat which I dutifully ignored.  I entered the restaurant and began promptly ordering the eight oysters dinner plus, a Seafood Sampler dinner to go.

I waited about ten minutes:  The oysters were frying and the aromatic, haunting smell was wafting throughout Tug Boat . . . Ding~DINNER!  YES!!!!!

The Restaurant Owner's Son served everything in a cardboard box thinking both dinners were to go but, I was FAMISHED:  I inhaled the eight oysters within FIVE minutes~GONE!  INHALED!  Buh-bye, oysters!

Incidentally, I thanked both the Owner and his Son for making my dinner so, I didn't have to cook at home.  The Son beamed ear to ear . . . He was a totally chill, cool dude!

Next day, I re-heated the Seafood Sampler in the oven on warm for ten minutes for lunch:  I'm so shameless-I inhaled everything in TEN minutes~LOL!

The prominent sign over the front door proudly proclaims "London Style Fish & Chips".  I am further proudly proclaiming that this food is also Chinese American style Fish & Chips and a lot of other things like Shrimp.

If you have ever eaten at the world famous Anchors Fish & Chips in Roseville, or Railroad Fish & Chips in Old Town Sacramento, this is the same.  The menu here is a tad smaller.

Anytime you see a shrimp stretched out to be like 9 inches long, that is Chinese American food.   I am a fan of it.   Typically Chinese food doesn't have thick deep fried batter but thanks to the Americanization of it these translations end up being pretty excellent more often than not.

    Easy parking and friendly staff.

This has the best fish and chips in town. The young man who works the front desk is incredibly polite and has a great attitude. He is helpful, attentive, and even during slow periods he is finding work to do. The building is older but is kept very clean. Great prices and like I said, superb food. All the locals know this!
